Here we go again! Every week seems like a month during Trump's reign and it isn't getting any easier. While engaging the Barr Justice Department to clean up his personal legal troubles, Trump's agents have taken to the streets disguised as Federal Law Enforcement in an effort to seize control of cities. All undertaken without the consent of affected governors and mayors. But to Trump and the GOP, using military style tactics to control the populace is all part of their "Law and Order" strategy of seizing control over Portland, a free America city by using force and intimidation. As of this writing, all we know is that Trump has granted approval to anyone willing to don a military style uniform to intimidate and harass law abiding citizens. Yes, law abiding citizens that have a Constitutional right to peacefully protest are being attacked and kidnapped by personnel readily unrecognizable by anyone. No identification, no markings, rented unmarked vans used for adducting citizens against their will and holding them for indefinite periods of time. Seems right out of a movie focussed on Iran or Syria or Russia. But that is America today under Trump.
When asked if he would authorize these sanctioned armed thugs to attack other American cities, Trump doubles down and says he alone will determine how the streets will be controlled in our states and cities. He even further has stated that he will be sending more of these "troops" to "Democrat controlled cities." I guess if the Democrats were all Russian, then everything would be hunky-dory, but these latest actions are straight from the Putin playbook on authoritative "domination" of non-submissive opponents. I mean, Trump can't have every American thrown from a seventh floor window, right?
When asked if he would support the results of the upcoming election, Trump defers. Does he honestly think his MAGA supporters will hit the streets to support his continuation in office even after a clear mandate from the electorate demands his term end in January? Do armed Trump supporters think the military will not be required to put them all down, regardless if they wear a Trump uniform? Where is the GOP to condemn this action? Can we assume their failure to speak out is ratification of America under their watch?
It is highly ironic that Trump and the GOP are promoting ads claiming under Biden we will have burning cities and riots throughout the nation. They even go so far as to include video of looters and riot police armed to the teeth shooting rubber bullets and tear gas at Americans protesting in their streets. The irony is obviously lost on them when they proclaim, "elect Biden and this will be what happens to America" when the very images they portray are actually from actions taking place today under TRUMP's Watch! Trump then argues Biden wants to "Defund the police" (which is a clear lie) and that he wants to eliminate the suburbs and windows in high rises and homes (also clear lies). Why does anyone listen to him anymore? I mean, "drink bleach and cure the virus" should have been enough to cancel anyones subscription to the Trump Crazy Tour. Who could possibly believe this bullshit? MAGAs, that's who. The minority crew in America that is willing to sacrifice everything to prove they are the mainstream while ignoring an overwhelming majority of Americans find their actions ridiculous and unwarranted.
When asked about removing confederate flags from the public square, Trump claims it's a "symbol of free speech" while ordering the dispersement of Americans actually using their guaranteed feee speech to protest his administration. Now he says that public education has harmed Americans because schools teach students to "hate America." Is this an admission Trump supporters (MAGA) never attained any level of education because they somehow are the only true patriots that love America? More like the only people interested in destroying our Democratic Republic to "own the libs" without appreciating they are slowing poisoning their own way of life.
Elections do have consequences and America is truly suffering greatly from the election of Donald Trump. With a double digit lead over Trump, Biden seems poised to secure the election - unless the GOP cheats and enlists foreign aid from Russia (again). We must remain diligent. If Trump and Trumpism is not defeated this November, America will surely fall from the lofty pedestal the world has held us high upon - and it will surely be the result of our own incredibly poor actions. As President Lincoln once famously wrote, “America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.” Let us all be on guard against this and vote for new leadership this Fall to Save our nation!
