America last night had a front row seat to the real Donald Trump and how he feels about the process involved in electing an American president.  After agreeing to the ground rules of the debate, "Mr. Law and Order" proved once again, that only his laws and his sense of order are to be considered.  Like millions of Americans tuning in, I found myself and my family repeatedly shouting "shut up" towards Trump - as if he could hear us any better than the athletes we scream at while watching sports.  Except unlike sports, this was real and not just for entertainment.  This was a true reflection of how unfit Trump is to serve as President, let alone for two terms.
            Joe Biden certainly is no rock star on the charisma scale to lure in the public with starry eyes and wonderment.  But Biden was solid enough to prove his mettle when dealing directly with a feckless immature bully that Trump illustrated time and time again for the World to witness.  Instead of actually being prepared for the debate, Trump bullied, interrupted, and yes, incessantly lied while talking repeatedly over Biden.  My wife was timing the responses to see if both actually were afforded equal time to present their arguments.  Chris Wallace, the moderator was straight out of Fox News casting - allowing Trump to interrupt Biden just as he was about 40 seconds into his two minutes of allotted time.  Instead of insisting Trump shut up, Wallace failed to control Trump and even interjected his own subjective questions towards Biden on the costs of the "New Green Deal" (which is not the role as a moderator).  As the debate went off the rails, so did Chris Wallace and so did any effort to have this "Debate" rise to the occasion it was meant to be.  Instead of educating the public on where the candidates stood on issues important to America, Trump dragged us all down into a rabbit hole of third grade tirades and name-calling,  To think 41% of Americans thought Trump did well in this debate reflects just how ignorant our country really is. We are in a bad way here in America, only with a real leader will we find our way back to our accustomed pre-Trump "normal." 
        One thing though will stand out more for the historians from this debate - Trump's very obvious refusal to tell White Supremacists they have no place in our society or politics.  Instead of attacking them, especially The Proud Boys (an all male, misogynistic, white supremacist Anti-Semitic terrorist group), Trump told them directly to prepare for the election loss - by gearing up their violence. "Stand back and stand By" has now become the rallying cry on social media for The Proud Boys and the KKK.  Trump and the GOP must be really proud that Trump actually came out and admitted what they have only been willing to say in private for all of these years.  The GOP and Trump are a party of, and for White Supremacists.  What can Biden do?  Win baby,  just win.
        On that note - vote early and encourage everyone to also vote.  My wife and I cast our ballots yesterday, dropping our ballots off at our local elections office.  Count two votes in Florida for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.  Stay safe and try to have a great week.  The end of this American nightmare is within reach.  It's time to make Trump and Trumpism go away - forever.  

         As if things couldn't get any worse for America, we have lost one of the most important judicial icons in our Nation's history - the death of Ruth Bader Ginsberg.  Instead of honoring her legacy, Trump and the GOP have again determined her death to be an "opportunity" to steer America backwards towards their delusional memories of times gone past, instead of looking towards the future our Framers once could only dream about.  
     For years I have warned people that when the Republicans tell us to be very worried about "others" they really mean that to distract us from looking more closely at their very own aims and objectives.  Hypocrisy rules the GOP to its core.  Nothing else really matters to them except to deceive and corrupt others for their ultimate desire for absolute control and power.  
           Instead of recognizing the death of RBG as a real opportunity to swing the nation back from the abyss of Trump and division, the GOP doubles down on forcing us further apart.  Instead of acknowledging that their own rule about holding off nominations and confirmations of Supreme Court Justices in an election year (as they so clearly decided in 2016), they instead see an opportunity to force their "choice" upon us all.  Why else have they so proudly proclaimed they have the numbers needed in the Senate to confirm Trump's nominee to the High Court- before a nominee has even been named?  Are they going to forgo any confirmation hearings too?  Just cast off any tradition of having a Confirmation process and instead, just rubber stamp the nominee - no matter if they are vetted or qualified to serve a lifetime appointment to the High Court?  Are they really willing to give up so much to gain temporary  political domination? 
        I have a list of things the Democrats must do if they are to win the House, Senate and the White House.  Republicans and the citizens they represent be damned.
1.  Pass legislation to increase the size of the Supreme Court to at least 11 justices (and perhaps 13).  "Packing the Court" used to be a bad thing - but using "rules" to withhold a confirmation from one president while ignoring those very same rules when it comes to "their President?" Just raise the number of justices on the High Court and let the chips fall where they may. Problem solved. 
2.  Pass immediate legislation requiring all States comply with Federal rules relating to re-districting.  Since the census is being completed (as required in the Constitution),  Congress should dictate how each state determines the legislative districts and how they are to be drawn.  Hence, require all states to create Independent Districting Commissions to determine Congressional districts.  This will fairly eliminate gerrymandering that the GOP has long used to create "safe Seats", thereby making them more responsible to the people they represent instead of the Party overlords that control them. 
3.  Pass immediate legislation establishing the Right to Choose for all Women.  Make legal abortion federal law. There is NOTHING in the Constitution that prohibits abortion - only GOP wet dreams make it a crime. 
4. Immediately make health care a Human Right by passing legislation making it available to all citizens. 
5. Immediately pass emergency legislation to battle climate change. Screw the GOP and climate deniers. If a "Caravan of Immigrants" is a national emergency, certainly climate change is a REAL one.
6.  Require national standards for diversity in all law enforcement agencies - along with limits on their protection against liability if they negligently (or criminally) violate citizens' protected civil rights.  Making police pay for their unlawful actions instead of the taxpayers may actually force law enforcement to put their "rogue" beliefs in check.
7.  Weed out White Supremacists from law enforcement and the US Military. Democracy cannot afford them in our ranks.
8.  Declare White Supremacy movements, including QAnon as National Security Threats.  Tools they use to recruit must be regulated and monitored to protect Americans from their undemocratic influences.
9.  Crack down on social media that allows violent groups oxygen.  It isn't a First Amendment issue - its an issue of  national security.
10.  Require news agencies to label opinions when giving versions of "facts" that are not in line with reality.  I would also recommend legislation be passed requiring all FCC license holders to meet the requirements of licensure standards.  In other words, FOX News is a registered "Entertainment" outlet, not a "news" outlet.  Until they revamp their hyper-partisan and distorting ways, they should no longer be allowed to promote "News" unless they are willing to be held accountable for their lies, distortions and misleading propaganda, 
11.  Legislate against Citizens United and wait for the New Supreme Court to uphold the new law.  ALL political donations must be identified.  All PACS must report every penny they receive in donations and a public list of contributors should be easily accessible to the public.  PACS can no longer put advertising in any media form.  They also must not be allowed to launder donations or bundle them.  It's time to take dark money out of our political process. 
12. Limit all political campaigns to six months prior to the next election cycle.
13.  Beef up the Hatch Act and make all politicians abide by it (including the President and his advisors). 
14.  Eliminate all Statute of Limitations for political corruption.
15.  Legislate criminal penalties for refusing to abide by Congressional subpoenas.  This would include members of the White House.
16.  Eliminate any loopholes allowing a sitting president to avoid criminal investigation or indictment while in office. 
17. Eliminate the Electoral College by passing a Constitutional Amendment.  One citizen, one vote. 
18. Admit Washington DC and Puerto Rico as the 51st and 52nd States.  It's about time. As they say in Washington, "No taxation without representation."
19.  Eliminate the filibuster in the Senate. Force the GOP to be back seaters in the government they have created in their own image - ignoring the minority when in majority power.   The only way to combat the GOP hypocrisy is to fight with the same power they have clung to since Reagan.  
        Vote Blue to Save America - before it's too late!  Try to have a safe week!

            Americans had a chance last night to either watch Bob Woodward with Anderson Cooper on CNN or view President Trump's Town Hall Meeting on ABC.  Being one who gets irritated hearing Trump's voice, I chose to watch Woodward instead, who subsequently went on to absolutely destroy Trump with Trump's own recorded words.  The man is truly unfit to serve as President, and proves why he should never have been elected in the first place.  Although Woodward confirmed my suspicions about Trump, the ABC Town Hall would have been a better option considering fact checkers are showing Trump lied almost as often as he inhaled air. And the audience wasn't taking too kindly to it. 
       The best part of the Town Hall was Trump's lie about "always over-playing the Virus" while being hammered for telling Woodward he "downplayed it" and the incredible argument that Joe Biden should be held accountable for not enforcing a Nationwide mask mandate.  Wait, what? (See: www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-biden-mask-mandate-abc-town-hall_n_5f617ac9c5b68d1b09c9541a).  So if Trump really wants to blame Biden for actions not taken, perhaps we should all agree to let Biden win the presidency so we can actually see for ourselves what he will do as president, instead of letting Trump off the hook for his incompetence serving AS president?  
       On top of this nonsense, Trump claims Climate Change is not to blame for the wildfires burning our West Coast.  Instead, he claims it's all due to poor forest management and that it will get "cooler", just wait and see. One point Trump always ignores - drought is not because of "weather" - it's because of Climate.  53% of the forests in California are owned by the Federal Government, not California.  So why hasn't he done anything about correcting his own "poor management?"  Because Donald Trump doesn't take responsibility for anything.  Why else would he be blaming Biden for his own presidential mistakes?  Yet, Trump supporters refuse to see what is plainly obvious to anyone with a working brain - that Donald Trump is a fraud and as Woodward has so publicly proclaimed after 19 hours of interviews - the man is UNFIT to serve!        Let's make sure Trump is a one term president by supporting Joe Biden and by encouraging voters to vote for Biden/Harris - For America!  Try to have a safe week!

          Now that we have proof that Donald Trump lied about the seriousness of the Corona Virus, which ultimately led to over 200,000 American deaths, what is the media doing about it?  What they always do.  Fox News offers excuses and distortions to make it appear Bob Woodward "misquoted" Trump and our local print media puts the story somewhere on Page Four (with the headline, "Author Claims..."   Except no one claimed anything about Trump lying - he admitted it on tape.  What do we have to do to force our media to just be honest with us and tell us the facts without messaging it with partisan opinion or bias? How in the hell did we come to the day when facts can be equivocated by opinion?  If it's raining outside, how can anyone seriously argue and get media support that it's not raining?  If the sky is Blue and someone says it's green instead, why would anyone even have to ask who is telling the truth?
        Donald Trump lied to the American people in order to create an illusion of control - all for his personal benefit of deflecting blame from the damage he has caused to our economy and to the health of our nation. If labeling our military "Losers" and "Suckers" didn't move MAGAs to realize Trump is worthless as president, will the fact that he lied about the deadly virus change their opinions?  Probably not when Fox News and print media always give him an offramp to escape the scrutiny he deserves for distorting, misleading and outright lying to us about a national health emergency - all under the muse of taking "No Responsibility."  
           Trump Lied and People Died.  The GOP allows it to happen and still support his re-election.  Clearly, caring for the nation is secondary to caring about their unbridled thirst for power and money.  It's time to vote them ALL out of office.  Otherwise, countless millions of Americans can count on more lies, deceptions and the ultimate death of our democratic-republic.  Oh, and remember, we once were united after the 9/11 attacks on America that killed 2,996 Americans.  Trump divides us when over 200,000 have died.  Try to have a safe week. 

        Happy Labor Day Weekend!  Unfortunately for many of us, we will not be visiting with children, grandchildren or friends because America's leadership under Donald Trump and the GOP have made it impossible to ignore the growing threat of Covid-19 and the devastation it brings. Unfortunately, as of this writing, over 187,000 of our fellow Americans will not be enjoying their weekend with family and friends, as they have passed due to a virus that Trump and his allies have politicized instead of battled.  When Donald Trump said America was at war and that he was a "War Time President", we know how he feels about soldiers that actually fight for America in battle.  They're all "suckers" and the brave men and women who tragically lose their lives in battle, are also "losers." For being in such a "War", he sure raised the White Flag without much of a fight. 
          The Atlantic article that published these statements has been collaborated by not only the Associated Press, but also Fox News (who still sheepishly claims Trump's denials somehow warrant equal time).  As mentioned long, long ago, when a man lies as easily as he breathes, it will one day come back to haunt him.  Donald Trump, may (hopefully) know when his bevy of  lies will come home to roost when Election Day arrives.  But this year's pandemic has made Election Day something different than in prior years.  This year, Election Day starts as soon as early voting begins (which is a lot sooner than November).  As soon as voters get their ballots in the mail, do yourself and the country a huge favor by taking a screen shot of it completed and instead of dropping it in the mail (which Trump has also politicized), take it to a drop off  box at your local election offices.  That way, they are sure to be received and counted by November 3.  And remember, Donald Trump, repeating Russian talking points about  mail in voting fraud, wants to be able to claim victory at the polls on November 3, so he can claim he was robbed in a "rigged election" once the mail in ballots are actually counted. Dropped off ballots are the only mechanism he can not cheat or steal from (despite his bogus claims it will be filled with fraudulent fake ballots).
       Our president is a traitor, one willing to divide this great nation for his own benefit and gain.  He will do anything to win re-election - including starting a war, destroying American cities or tying up the election in the courts.  But we have the solution, we have the Anti-Trump vaccine.  VOTE for Joe Biden and for Democrats to take over the Senate so that our country can heal and return America to some sense of  normalcy.
        Never in our history have we had a Commander in Chief despise our military like Trump.  Never have we witnessed a cabinet filled with corrupt sycophants.  Not since Nixon have we had an Attorney Generals (convicted John Mitchell and Richard Kleindienst) use the DOJ as a personal protection racquet for the benefit of one man instead of the Country.  The only hoax we have been witnessing, is Donald Trump, a reality Television Star whose makeup, fancy hair style and kitchen cabinet full of lies and distortions, will be removed from office like a stain that has blotted our Nation's tapestry of Equal Justice For All. 
        As John Kennedy famously said, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your Country."  Donald Trump thinks those words are for "suckers" and "losers."  Let's finally label Trump a Loser come election Day.  Have a great and safe Labor Day Weekend!
