In the Politico article, Bozell uses the following arguments as to why the "the 2012 election was just the latest — and perhaps most flagrant — example of journalists’ bias toward liberal politicians." Really? To prove his point, Bozell cites examples of the unfair bias of the Media. Those examples? "How can you do 5,400 words in The Washington Post about Mitt Romney’s high school days, focusing on cutting the hair of that one kid in 1965 and then do 5,500 words on Barack Obama’s high school days revolving around his love of basketball and not even mention his love of something else, called marijuana?” Really? Yes, I am amazed that this Bozell guy is making claims of liberal bias in the media based upon this type of belief...that Obama's use of marijuana should have been exposed to its fullest if Romney's school days of bullying received more attention. Earth to Bozell and those who can't wait to buy his book - most Americans have no problem with marijuana, but they do have a problem with bullying at school! Isn't this statement enough to prove how out of touch Conservatives really are in America? Why is it that Conservatives are against anything "liberals" believe in - until someone in their family admits to practicing them too (welfare, homosexuality, Rights to Choose, recreational/medicinal marijuana use)?
Another rationale for Bozell's new book? “Any Republican should have beaten Barack Obama with one hand tied behind his back. Obama was the single most vulnerable incumbent in a generation,” Bozell said, adding later, “you look at how the media did not cover scandals and controversies revolving around Barack Obama but covered anything and everything revolving around Republicans, and you ask yourself the question, ‘Had the news media been fair and honest, would Obama have won reelection?’ I don’t think so.”
Any Republican? Herman Cain? Sarah Palin? Newt Gingerich? Rick Santorum? Michele Bachmann? Should anyone really believe anything this guy writes if he actually believes this sentiment? Does Bozell actually believe that no one watches Fox News, listens to Beck and Limbaugh, or reads Newsmaxx or The Wall Street Journal because they certainly ginned up enough stories about Fast and Furious, Solyndra and Benghazi! Karl Rove didn't spend hundreds of millions of dollars on ads that did not air during the election campaign, did he?
Once again, Conservatives are drawing at straws to explain why they did not win the White House in 2012, instead of admitting their platform and candidates do not match those supported by most Americans. Now the excuse is that the Media was not "fair and honest!" Didn't Bozell really mean "Fair and Balanced" like Fox?
