Folks, I have witnessed an increasingly disturbing trend of Republicans accusing those that disagree with them of being "Un-American." I personally have been accused of having a "different world view." Huh? Is this another way of saying that I don't have an "American" view? Frankly, I have never gloated about any victory I have experienced on the playing field (and I have experienced a few hundred of them along with many championships), but I am honestly tired of being accused of being something less than a "loyal American" by folks that cannot simply accept that I disagree with their views. Emotionally, I angrily think that I would (like Conservatives I know) rub some noses in tomorrow's election results! But I will do my best to remain "Mr. Nice Guy." Let's all hope for the best! Go Vote, it's your American birthright, it's your duty, it should be your pleasure! Emotions are wonderful even if they come from folks we disagree with, but we are all Americans and we all must accept that not everyone accepts our political view and ideologies. I will do my best to give Conservatives that support Romney slack if they lose (even though I am certain they would not reciprocate in any way if Romney wins). I guess I will try my damnest to be "on my best behavior."
Finally, Election Day is upon us. Hopefully we can put to bed a couple of tough issues that we as a country have been facing. The first? That the Republican narrative that Obama is "a failed president (worse than Carter) and that his vision is not "American" can be put aside as nothing more than Conservative clap-trap. As I have said for months, IF Obama is re-elected, the GOP's narrative is nothing but a spent shot, worth nothing and not worthy of being repeated if Obama gets a second term. Second? Perhaps we can finally convince Republicans that those that disagree with their ideology are Americans, regardless of their stated beliefs.
