As I begin to prepare for my trip to New York to work with my son Nathan on the promotion of our new book, "Boomers to Millennials - Moving America Forward", I couldn't help but notice all of the lies that are being spread by the Right Wing. Somehow, someone subscribed me to both Judicial Watch and TeaParty.Org. Both are seemingly dedicated to distorting all news in an effort to manipulate followers into sharing fake news to anyone that will listen or read their "arguments." Except their allegations are so transparently false, only the most ignorant would pass them along. Which tells us a lot about those who support the Right Wing and Trump. They are either willingly ignorant or simply incapable of recognizing truth from lies.
One of the Whoppers this week was from Trump himself while campaigning in Ohio - telling his adoring fans how great Robert E. Lee was as a general. Except Lee led the Army of Virginia and was responsible for the deaths of over 32,000 Ohio troops fighting for the Union. Despite the fact that Union Generals U.S. Grant and Tecumseh Sherman (who defeated Lee) were native born Buckeyes! Yet the crowd cheered! That's enough to verify his followers are, frankly, IDIOTS. The following stories have also been passed along recently by these flame-throwing liars -
From the Tea Party; "Four Democrats Caught in Voter Fraud Ring Targeting Seniors in Fort Worth!" Except the "ring" were four related people working with seniors to ensure their voter registrations were up to date. Did they change anything that would be viewed as "fraudulent?" I guess if you consider they signed the voter's name and it differs from what it appears on their original registration. It did not change their identification, address or other voter related information of the elderly that were using the form. An innocent matter made to look sinister by "Four Democrats" - except nowhere in the article (they made up) is there any indication what the four's political affiliation actually is. A lot is assumed.
My favorite from the Tea Party is their claim "There have been more than three separate Democrat attempts to impeach President Trump!" Does this even require a comment? A majority of the House of Representatives is required to move forward with Impeachment. Anyone think the Dems can get around the GOP Majority on this front? I guess only ignorant Tea Party followers do.
Another example from the Tea Party is "Breaking News! Portland Police Want to Charge Driver With Crimes After Escaping Mob Protest - Violent Protesters Considered "Victims"..." Seriously!? But it gets much, much worse! "Breaking News! Rod Rosenstein Refuses to Turn Over Subpoenaed Memos - Backs Out of Thursday's Congressional Hearing!" Except there are no outstanding "memos" being sought that Rosenstein is "refusing to turn over" and the man was supposed to have been meeting with Trump that day instead. The best one yet? "Breaking News! LOCK HER UP! Hillary Has Secret Service Details Pulled Due To Her Illegal Emails!" It was reported that Clinton herself requested the Secret Service curtail protection for herself and four others that worked closely with her. It was reported to the public by Chuck Schumer. So much for "Lock Her Up!" Ironic the Right demands Hillary be locked up without any actual evidence yet demand Kavanaugh and others be afforded "Due Process Rights! and Innocent until proven guilty!" Can't teach stupid!
Judicial Watch is another doozy. They claim to keep an eye on everything Judicial, except they routinely ignore anything that may implicate Republicans as wrongdoers. Instead they continue the attack on Obama and Clinton as "Lawless Traitors!" They also file a lot of Amicus Briefs for Conservative Causes. Their latest? A Freedom of Information Act request for all FBI documents relating to the FISA Warrant relating to Carter Page. Yep, they are still stuck on this nonsense (conveniently ignoring all of the GUILTY PLEAS Mueller has already secured from Senior Trump campaign officials). Anyone know where their funding comes from for their hyper-partisan legal defying nonsense?
And while the Right was distracting the media with a blitz calling Dems "Unruly, Uncivil, Violent Mobs", the GOP led Senate affirmed a Trump Administrative rule allowing States to determine the levels of minimal insurance they can offer citizens. Not too bad right? Except the Rule "omits the ACA coverage requirements that protects consumers with pre-existing conditions protection." You read that right. (See SJRes. 63, passed 10/10/2018).
So if we want the GOP-led Congress and Trump to continue to LIE to the American Public, stay home and don't vote. If you want a change in our Government, one that we can again begin to believe in, Vote BLUE!
