So my bottom line is this. IF Iran was going to accept a nuke deal, they would have done so quite some time ago. They have successfully played the P-5 nations with their delays allowing them to build all the infrastructure necessary to rapidly move towards bombs. Why else would they have hidden their facilities from inspectors as promised. Why else have they rapidly moved towards developing ICBM's (Inter-Continental Ballistic Missiles - capable to carrying nuclear payloads with tremendous range of effectiveness)? What really puzzles me though, is the naive view some take when it comes to Iran. Are we to believe their statements about wanting peace? If so, are we to also believe their similar statements about the destruction of Israel being "non-negotiable?" Which one is it folks? Are both truthful statements? Does anyone truly believe Iran will not move against Israel via its proxies Hezbollah and Hamas and then threaten the West with nukes to ensure the status quo with Israel - in ashes..aka Mission Accomplished? Lots of folks want to believe the Iranians so they claim to trust them. Even the Arab States don't trust the Ayatollahs from Persia. Allowing Iran to go nuclear has already made surrounding Arab Nations uneasy - forcing themselves to think "nuclear." Get a grip. I believe this is NOT going to end well if we allow them to proceed. And DON'T give me the "Warmonger" label, so freely used by those in favor of Iran and the "framework". I am opposed to attacking Iran, but advocate clamping down on sanctions hard enough for the Iranian PEOPLE to change their leadership from a violent, territorial theocracy to one instead with a peaceful purpose.
As President George Washington himself once wrote; "Experience teaches us that it is much easier to prevent an enemy from posting themselves than it is to dislodge them after they have got possession." No wiser words have ever been said when it comes to what we face with the nation of Iran. Have a great week!
