"President Mitt Romney 2012 Our future POTUS in Saint Petersburg---
Americans who still love our country are waking
up. The silent majority will turn out on November
6th. We the people must preserve our country
and speak with our votes. Election day will be like
Chick-fil-A day...when Americans spoke out in
support of our first amendment rights and the
importance of our U.S. Constitution."
Take a good look at the future folks. A future wherein one group of American citizens actually believe they have a monopoly on patriotism and love of country. A group that believes we should ignore the real meaning of the Constitution and how it shall apply to all Americans, not just those who have brainwashed themselves into believing they alone are real Americans. The "silent majority" they refer to? I am praying and hoping that "silent majority" includes those Americans sick and tired of the divisive rhetoric spewed by those with designs to divide us in an effort to gain political power, despite the rights of ALL the people. All we have been hearing from the Right is how Obama is taking our rights away and has divided us. All we have been hearing for years now from the Right is how "we need to take our country back!" Back from whom? The entire time the Right has been making noise about Obama stealing our liberties and our country, the Right has been actively engaged in doing just that, pushing an agenda that limits equal protection for all Americans, from restricting women's rights to choose to making it more difficult to vote than to obtain a hand gun.
Now I am a fervent supporter of the First Amendment. In fact, I support the entire Constitution (perhaps because I can tell others what it actually means) and the rights of every American, but this posting poses a threat to our way of life as Americans. Is is a symbol that the Right is actually engaged in a campaign to divide and conquer all political opposition with a zealotry based upon a "holier than though" litmus test of political purity. Nothing makes me sadder than statements like these. Nothing makes me more angry than having a group of Americans honestly believe they alone are the "real Americans" and those of us that may disagree are somehow less American as a result.
Are you angry over this? Do you see a need to rise up to defeat folks with this belief system and mentality? America was built on compromise, yet contemporary America has been stagnated because of a refusal to compromise, and it has been coming from the Right Wing since Obama was elected. Why else would Republicans slam positive economic news? Why can't they celebrate an American success that proves we actually are moving in the right direction (and compared with the rest of the World, America is doing fine)? Why can't they admit that housing construction is improving, the stock market is soaring and most Americans are working? Why can't they really celebrate America instead of tearing it down by casting aside those of us that disagree with their political agendas? For those on the Right that believe the message promoted on Facebook by "President Mitt Romney 2012" I say, shame on you!
