I explained (as I have written in my posts in the past) that Iran is a threat to the World, not just to Israel, and as a result, The United States with a coalition of support from Western Nations must confront Iran economically and eventually (if necessary) militarily to stop their intentions to become a nuclear power. Israel instead, must be free to eliminate immediate threats it faces from Hezbollah and Hamas. By doing so, Israel would be able to sever Iran's ability to strike directly into Israel from it's northern and southwestern borders. Some time after this discussion (and writing about this strategy), I coincidentally received a request from a group in Jerusalem for my insight as it relates to Iran and its threats to Israel and the Western World. After explaining exactly what I would direct Israel to do about its immediate threats, I received the following reply; "Thank you for your very astute observations." I did not think more about this matter until Hamas decided to start another round of terror by increasing attacks into Israel.
Hamas has fired hundreds of "rockets" into Southern Israel for many months, but only recently their attacks have multiplied and expanded in range using Iranian manufactured missiles. Which gets to my point of this posting. Israel recognizes that any attack on Iran would unleash a torrent of missile attacks from Hamas and Hezbollah. Iran's influence in Syria is being seriously challenged by the gruesome civil war taking place there. Typical of the Muslims hell-bent on destroying Israel, a calculation was made that all elements of the Muslim Brotherhood would join forces in support of Hamas if they engaged in a barrage of missile attacks into Israel in order to divert attention from Iran's efforts to speed-up its enrichment of weapons grade uranium. By doing so, Hamas could spark a regional conflict and weaken both the Israeli Military and support for Israel in the eyes of the World. Why else would Hamas start to accelerate their missile strikes without any real provocation?
After firing missiles deep into Israel, the Jewish State had no choice but to "engage" Hamas. In order to seek a resolution through a cease fire, Israel was willing to curtail retaliatory attacks, but Hamas not only rejected this offer, they intensified its attacks by firing missiles into Tel Aviv and Jerusalem (too bad no Hamas missile hit the Dome of the Rock, now THAT would be just desserts)! With over half of the population of Israel (Jewish, Christian and Muslim) under fear of attack, Israel is preparing for a ground invasion into Gaza where Hamas has ruled with an iron fist since engaging in a successful coup over the Palestinian Authority's Fatah. Coming as no surprise, Fatah has publicly supported Hamas and its attacks on Israel.
But why did Hamas really start this conflict? Do they believe the time is right to engage in a full blown war with Israel in order to destroy her once and for all? Perhaps. But one thing is for sure. The World Media may as well be an arm of the Hamas propaganda machine for the way they are reporting this event. According to most news outlets, including Reuters, CNN and MSNBC, Hamas is "suffering from the heavy handed air attacks from Israel" in response to firing "unsophisticated rockets." UNSOPHISTICATED ROCKETS? Tell that to the people KILLED and INJURED by these rockets! If the media actually believes the nonsense they spew about these "rockets," how about reporters line up to stand beneath one when it lands so they can learn first hand that these are not mere "rockets" that fire like "bottle rockets" but are instead Missiles, aka BOMBS. Israel is being BOMBED by Hamas, to the tune of hundreds a day! I therefore ask the media a simple question...What Country other than Israel would you expect to sit idly by while being bombed throughout the day? London was a victim of German bombings, but no one expected them to sit back and take it. On 9/11 New York was attacked by two hijacked airliners serving as flying missiles and did we expect the United States to sit idly by and accept it? Then why the hell does the media expect Israel to? Israel, like any other nation, has the supreme right to protect its citizens from foreign attacks. The Media should not allow Hamas to be given a "pass" for initiating a war by giving them "victimhood" status for any Israeli retaliation.
Israel has continued to offer a simple ceasefire proposal. Hamas stops firing rockets into Israel and Israel will stop bombing Gaza. What does Hamas say to that proposal? NO! Hamas says they will stop bombing Israel when Israel allows Gaza to open up its borders so that it may be resupplied with Iranian missiles and weaponry. Some counter-offer huh!? Since Israel will not allow this to happen, Hamas is playing a dangerous game hoping to gain the high ground by being portrayed in the media as victims and refugees. Tell the media to be honest and report the truth about Hamas. Tell the Media we support Israel's right to exist. Tell the Media to stop the double standard when it comes to Israel's right to exist. Am Yisroel Chai....The People of Israel Exist! Keep it up Hamas, and maybe you won't.
