Everyone knows that the attack on Charlie Hebdo was the work of depraved, sinister, evil and seriously misguided individuals, hell-bent on fulfilling a blood lust to kill innocents. I know - they claim it was provoked because Charlie Hebdo's staff defamed the prophet Muhammed, but was that the real reason for their heinous action? Seriously? If it was, then why the attack on the Kosher Supermarket in Paris that resulted in 4 innocent deaths? What did those folks do to disparage the Islamic prophet? So to my point...
Wednesday night my wife and I were driving listening to news radio. Breaking into the news was a special report from "AP NEWS!" The breaking part of the news? That all of France is outraged by the "first terrorist attack to strike France in years!" And newspapers report the attack this week on Charlie Hebdo the French equivalent to "9/11!" And from this frustration, the World will share the French words, "Je Suis Charlie Hebdo!" or "I am Charlie Hebdo!" Great, except some French citizens have been victims of terrorist attacks in France for quite some time. In fact, some French citizens have been victimized by terrorism IN France throughout 2014. In 2013 alone, the International Business Times reports, "there were 318 threats, 49 acts of violence, 52 acts of vandalism, 3 arson attacks." In 2012, a terrorist attacked a school in Toulouse, France killing four including three children. He was videotaped attempting to kill another 5 year old by dragging her by the hair into a courtyard to shoot her in the head, but his gun jammed before he could kill her. The World's reaction? Meh. Why? Because those French "citizens" were all Jews. Instead of being labeled terrorist attacks, they have been dismissed as "isolated hate crimes." Except the number of "incidents" reveal the stark reality that they have not been "isolated" as claimed. They have all been perpetrated as a form of terror - to "chill" Jews from living in peace - anywhere (including Israel). For the attacks in Europe and Israel against Jews is not because of something they have done to offend but simply because they are Jewish - because of who they are. And many in the world engage in mere "lip service" indicative of a true disregard for Jewish lives.
The list of attacks on Jews in France (and in Europe overall) have all been on the upswing, mostly by Arabs claiming they are defending Islam. But isn't the use of religion simply a form of political "cover" for the Arabs when perpetrating these heinous crimes? I mean, we used to identify those that hated Jews as either Nazis, Klansmen, Skin Heads, Neo-Nazi Nationalists and Arabs. Now, Islam is being used to "justify" evil in an effort to slide Arab culture into western civilization. Why else would Hamas and Iran condemn the killings at Charlie Hebdo (not surprisingly silent on the attack on the Jews in the market though). Why? Because it is the Arab/Persian goal to push the World backward, far enough backward to where the sword rules and they will wield the swords. Westerners abhor the violent practices of the terrorists. Westerners do not have an objective to kill and be killed. We instead prefer to kill those who attack us and then to live - in peace. And yet we collectively allow fear to dictate our responses. Folks naturally slink away or ignore things they fear. So why has the non-Muslim population not stood up to the attacks against Jews? And will non-Jews in Europe ever stand up for Jews? By looking at Europe's treatment of Israel in the U.N., they prefer to attack Israel as a way of convincing their hostile Arab population they are at peace with them. And why the attacks on Israel when it is merely protectin its very own survival? Because a Jewish Israel symbolizes a strength most are uncomfortable with. A Jewish strength to confront and destroy terror. And for this, Israel is easily vilified as being some sort of evil itself. Unfortunately, common sense is no longer very common.
The reason Arabs and Iran have condemned the attacks is simple. They would prefer the world ignore their efforts to "blend into Western societies" and become a political force. They prefer Arabs and those using Islam to appear to assimilate only to gain enough political power to slowly erode Western values until they become powerful enough to substitute their values and laws. Only by prematurely showing their true face of terror have they been exposed before their main objectives can be accomplished. And this alone is why they condemn the Charlie Hebdo attack - not because it is evil incarnate but because it will set their global objectives back. Yet, where are the Arab/Persian condemnations of the attack on the supermarket? Instead, we are all reminded that retaliation against mosques is unacceptable - and it is. But what about attacks on synagogues? Where are the "journalists" reporting that for the first time since WWII, Jews are afraid to pray at the Grand Synagogue of Paris because of threats of further terrorism? Isn't this a victory for the terrorists? Isn't this a national tragedy for France? How long will France all claim to be Charlie Hebdo? And will France ever be "Je Sius Juif" - " I am Jewish?" I'm not holding my breath! If you think I am exaggerating, think again. According to the Anti-Defamation League, world-wide attacks on Jews has been spiraling for many years. (See http://www.adl.org/anti-semitism/international/c/global-antisemitism-2014.html) and as a result, Jews have begun to emigrate from Europe in growing numbers. And can anyone honestly believe that eliminating Jews from Europe is a good thing - especially when the elimination is due to unprovoked and unchecked hatred based violence and terror?
As President Ronald Reagan once wrote; "To sit back hoping that someday, some way, someone will make things right is to go on feeding the crocodile, hoping he will eat you last - but eat you he will." Only when the world realizes that those that live by terror are nothing more than the crocodiles referred to by Reagan may we face the threats to democracy and the values we live by. Until then, we can expect continued suffering and attacks. But for all of those with their heads in the sand (or their back sides), I say Je Sius Juif! Have a great week!
