But the real crime may be the constant attempts to apply lies to the facts about the meeting. Not only does the evidence now show there was a group committed to hearing out the Russians on what they could obtain via illegal hacks, but that they have done everything to convince America that the meeting never happened and even if it did, nothing was done with the information so therefore, no crime. Except putting the meeting together with foreign agents intent on interfering with our elections is a Crime - where Collusion quickly becomes a Conspiracy. And to keep changing their stories behind what really happened reveals a pattern of Obstruction of Justice. Richard Nixon did not go down in history for authorizing the Watergate break in. He went down for creating a false narrative of lies and efforts to hide his involvement in the break in, leading to the fatal Obstruction of Justice claim. And this is exactly that same path Mr. Trump has taken. Instead of confessing, our president continues to lie. Now he and his advisors have begun a campaign of narratives to "soften" his crimes by claiming the meeting that he didn't know of took place. Except his public campaign claim that he would be revealing "dirt" on the Clintons sometime after the meeting was to be held. Seriously? This is what happens when one engages in a constant game of lies and distortions. Their credibility is irreparably damaged. And Trump's is toast!
By now we have learned that the mystic of Donald Trump and his unpredictable nature during the campaign has become very predictable indeed. Trump is guilty of Conspiracy and Obstruction of Justice. This has become obvious by his own admissions about the meeting and his demands the investigation into the illegal meeting be ended short of reaching proper legal conclusions.
As president James Madison once wrote; "The truth is that all men having power ought to be mistrusted." Too bad we now have a president we can not trust. Have a great week!
